Afreelance is a Cameroonian freelancing platform that connects clients looking for services with freelancers offering professional skills in various fields — such as graphic design, web development, writing, translation, marketing, and more.
Our mission is to make it easy for talented professionals in Africa to find paid online work locally and internationally.
Freelancers create an account, complete their profile, and publish service offers (called “Gigs”).
Clients browse available services or post custom projects.
Once both parties agree on terms, payment is processed securely through Afreelance.
The freelancer delivers the work, and the client validates it.
Afreelance releases the payment to the freelancer’s wallet.
Anyone aged 18 or older, with a valid ID and phone number in Cameroon (or elsewhere), can join as a freelancer or client.
You must also have access to MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money for payments and withdrawals.
Yes, registration is free for both freelancers and clients.
However, Afreelance charges a small service commission on completed transactions to cover platform maintenance and security.
Optional premium subscriptions are available for users who want to increase visibility or access advanced tools.
Freelancers receive payments directly in their Afreelance wallet once the project is completed and approved.
You can then withdraw your earnings through MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money, using the number linked to your account.
We currently support the following payment options in XAF (CFA Franc):

Absolutely. Afreelance uses SSL encryption, two-factor authentication, and secure escrow protection to guarantee that:
Clients’ payments are safe until work is delivered.
Freelancers are paid automatically once work is validated.
No third party can access your financial data.
We also comply with Cameroon’s Cybersecurity Law and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) standards.
Premium plans give freelancers or clients additional advantages such as:
Better profile visibility
Access to featured projects
Priority support and verification badge
Analytics and project management tools
Subscription is optional and billed monthly or annually in XAF.
If there’s a misunderstanding between a client and a freelancer:
Both parties should first try to communicate directly.
If unresolved, a dispute ticket can be opened in the dashboard.
The Afreelance Support Team reviews all the evidence (messages, files, etc.) and makes a fair decision.
All final decisions are made in accordance with Afreelance’s Terms and Conditions.
Refunds are possible if:
The project was never started, or
The freelancer failed to deliver the agreed work.
Refunds are processed directly into your Afreelance wallet, not via Mobile Money.
For now, Afreelance focuses on the Cameroon market, but international expansion to other African countries is planned soon (Phase 2).

Yes. All freelancers go through an identity verification process and must maintain high ratings from clients. Verified freelancers display a “Verified” badge on their profile.
We apply strict cybersecurity measures:
End-to-end encryption of communications
Encrypted passwords and personal data
Regular vulnerability scans
Compliance with GDPR and national data protection standards
We never share or sell your personal information to third parties.
Accounts may be suspended for:
Fraudulent or misleading activity
Incomplete or false information
Breach of Terms and Conditions
Offensive or abusive behavior

No. Each user is allowed one account only (either freelancer or client).
Duplicate accounts will be deactivated automatically.
Yes. Afreelance plans to launch a Freelance Academy with training in digital skills, communication, and project management to help new users succeed on the platform.

All reports are handled confidentially and promptly.
Yes, once the international version of Afreelance is launched, verified freelancers will be able to receive offers globally and get paid in multiple currencies (XAF, USD, EUR).
